Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning, implementing, and administering safety programs on behalf of the company. Review, interpret and advise management on field safety concerns. Oversee safety contractors and procedures for repair/maintenance projects (i.e., confined space, trenching/excavation, hot work & well servicing). Perform on-site evaluations of facilities. Evaluate field operations to determine personal protective equipment needs for employees. Develop site specific safety work procedures as needed. Coordinate and conduct safety meetings/training at field offices. Maintain required documentation for regulatory compliance. Assist Field Safety Manager to develop and revise the various safety programs for field operations and regulatory changes. Investigate accidents/incidents and prepare the associated reports. Conduct new employee safety orientation. Responsible for planning and prioritizing own work schedule.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 yrs. work experience in safety and field operations. Excellent communication skills required. Strong attention to detail and accuracy Technical/mechanical competency of field safety equipment a plus. Must be able to travel to company locations and make own travel arrangements. Employment contingent upon a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report. Employment contingent upon being able to wear all types of breathing air equipment, pass a respirator medical evaluation and mask fit test. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
Education:
High school graduate, college degree preferable. 2 yrs. training experience, preferred OSHA Outreach & H2S Trainer certification preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Seeing Pushing/pulling Climbing Stooping Lifting (50 lbs.) Driving (field/local, over all terrain) Ability to travel distances within and between locations/offices Ability to wear an SCBA and all necessary personal protective equipment
