Full Job Description SUMMARY:
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk with experience in warehouse and dock operations to join our seafood distribution team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling inbound and outbound shipments, coordinating with customers and company trucks, and maintaining accurate documentation in a cold storage environment.
Receiving Operations:
Inspect and verify incoming seafood shipments for accuracy.
Shipping Operations:
Prepare outbound shipments, including packing, labeling, and staging products for dispatch. Coordinate with company drivers and third-party carriers to ensure timely deliveries. Generate and verify shipping documents, including invoices, bills of lading and packing slips. Ensure the workspace meets cleanliness, safety, and temperature control standards.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments. Update inventory logs and prepare daily shipping and receiving reports.
Customer and Driver Coordination:
Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams to resolve shipping and receiving issues. Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Proven work experience as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk or similar role Good Understandingof shipment and delivery processes Experience with inventory management software Strong organizational and multitasking skills Documentation experience rather than warehouse/dock experience Inbound and outbound customers and company trucks Open to cover Monday and Sunday as needed.
