This role is ideal for someone who is organized, safety-minded, and comfortable working around heavy materials, equipment, and fast-moving warehouse activity in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Load or unload steel shipments and verify quantities, quality, and paperwork against purchase orders, packing slips, job paperwork, or shipping documents. Inspect materials and shipments for damage, discrepancies, or missing information and report issues promptly. Maintain accurate receiving or shipping records using computer systems or inventory software. Process bills of lading, purchase orders, packing slips, shipping paperwork, and other required documentation. Organize and maintain inventory, staged materials, completed orders, or designated storage areas. Assist with cycle counts, inventory updates, shipment staging, and record accuracy as needed. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cranes, or pallet jacks safely and efficiently. Communicate with internal teams, suppliers, customers, or carriers to coordinate material flow and resolve receiving or shipping issues. Qualifications Strong attention to detail for checking materials, shipments, paperwork, and records for accuracy. Basic math and computer skills, including Microsoft Office, for data entry and recordkeeping. Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure; a tape measure test will be given at interview. Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment preferred. Strong organizational skills for managing inventory, staging materials, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining a clean workspace. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Safety-minded approach to working with heavy steel, machinery, warehouse equipment, and shipping or receiving activity.
