Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference in the classroom as a Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students on a full-time contract. This role focuses on co-teaching Math and Science for 6th grade and ELA and Science for 7th and 8th grades in a collaborative inclusion setting. Help students with Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, and EBD thrive in their first years of middle school, working alongside general education teachers to foster growth and positive behaviors.

Key Qualifications:

Hold an active GaPSC SPED Consultative P-12 Teaching Endorsement Experience supporting students in a co-taught or inclusion environment is preferred Strong collaboration skills to work with general education teachers and support staff Understanding of diverse SPED eligibilities, including Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, and EBD Ability to implement and support behavior plans where needed Strong communication skills with students, families, and team members

Role Responsibilities:

Co-teach Math and Science with 6th grade teachers, supporting a caseload of 10-12 students (ages 11-12) Co-teach ELA and Science with 7th/8th grade teachers, supporting 10-12 students (ages 12-14) Provide tailored instructional support and modifications within the inclusion setting Support social, emotional, and academic development of students as they transition to and move through middle school Collaborate with staff to develop, monitor, and evaluate IEP goals and behavior plans Maintain open communication with families and offer strategies for student success at home and school This is a rewarding opportunity to build relationships and support meaningful progress in an engaging, collaborative environment—with no toileting or diapering required.
