Job Title:
Shipping and Receiving Clerk - 1st shift Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Clerk accurately receives, verifies, and labels incoming products, ensures all materials are properly documented and assigned to the correct site, and prepares items for timely shipment. This role uses warehouse equipment and computer systems to manage inventory, maintain accurate records, and support efficient e-fulfillment operations. Responsibilities Receive incoming products and match them against purchase orders to verify accuracy of items, quantities, and part numbers. Count, label, and organize received products and designate them to the appropriate site or destination within the facility. Scan each item received into the correct container, such as pallets or other load units, to prepare orders for timely shipment. Use pallet jacks and forklifts to safely move products throughout the warehouse and staging areas. Enter data into computer systems, including inventory information, part numbers, and shipping or receiving details. Perform inventory control activities, including cycle counts, to maintain accurate stock levels. Use RF scanners to track products, update inventory records, and support order picking and packing activities. Assist with picking, packing, and packaging products as needed to support shipping operations. Load products for outbound shipments and assist with general labor tasks within the warehouse as required. Follow established processes and training guidelines to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient handling of all materials. Essential Skills At least 2 years of shipping and/or receiving experience. At least 2 years of receiving experience specifically. Intermediate computer skills with strong data entry capabilities. Strong attention to detail and excellent counting ability. Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including picking, packing, and packaging. Ability to use a pallet jack to move product. Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift. Experience with inventory control and cycle counts. Ability to use RF scanners for inventory and order processing. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted. Comfort working in a general warehouse labor environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Strong computer skills to accurately enter and manage inventory and part number data. Familiarity with e-fulfillment or warehouse implementation environments. Willingness to participate in forklift training provided by the employer. Ability to follow structured training that includes both classroom-style presentations and hands-on practice. Flexibility to work overtime when needed with advance notice. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in an e-fulfillment warehouse that provides implementation services ranging from design consultation and technical integration to buildout and retrofits, with a focus on maximizing site efficiency. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime available as needed and communicated in advance. The environment requires steel-toed shoes and jeans as part of the dress code, and you will work in a hands-on, warehouse setting that involves material handling and general labor tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hartford, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
