Job Description

Overview Midwest Staffing is helping a client in Shakopee hire a Shipping & Receiving Associate to join their warehouse team. This is a hands-on position responsible for shipping, receiving, inventory management, and maintaining an organized warehouse. The ideal candidate has previous warehouse experience, forklift certification, and strong computer skills. Duties Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment. Generate shipping documentation, including bills of lading and commercial invoices. Receive incoming shipments, inspect products, and verify orders against shipping documents. Unpack, organize, and stock inventory in designated warehouse locations. Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate inventory discrepancies. Review work orders, pick lists, and material requirements to ensure orders are completed on time. Determine the most efficient shipping methods using knowledge of shipping procedures and carriers. Label inventory using identification tags and other labeling equipment. Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety standards. Keep records of inventory movement and warehouse equipment usage. Assist with basic product assembly as needed. Perform other warehouse duties as assigned. Qualifications 2-5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or materials management. Valid forklift certification required. Strong computer skills; experience with ERP systems is a plus. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment. Strong verbal and written English communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to stand for 8+ hours per shift. Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working around forklifts, warehouse equipment, and machinery. Must wear required personal protective equipment (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection when required).
