Job Description

Overview Portmeirion Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our homeware distribution center in Waterbury, CT. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of warehouse operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of orders across wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in consumer packaged goods distribution. Key Responsibilities Manage all daily operations of the distribution center, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders, meeting service level expectations Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement Oversee workflow planning, labor scheduling, and productivity optimization Maintain inventory accuracy and coordinate cycle counts and physical inventories Utilize and optimize WMS systems to support efficient operations and reporting Collaborate with customer service, sales, and transportation partners to resolve order issues and improve delivery performance Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and operational best practices Additional duties as assigned Requirements Qualifications 5+ years of experience in warehouse or distribution center operations, preferably in consumer packaged goods Proven experience managing direct-to-consumer fulfillment operations Strong working knowledge of WMS systems Experience supporting Amazon fulfillment (Seller Central, FBA/FBM, compliance requirements) a plus Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on, in-office environment Availability to manage the 2nd shift from mid-November through end of year
