S_180265 We are seeking an experienced and steady-handed Shipping and Receiving Manager to oversee our daily logistics operations. In this role, you will direct the flow of goods in and out of our facility, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and safety. You will directly manage and mentor a close-knit team of four associates, guiding them through daily challenges. Because logistics is inherently fast-paced and prone to unexpected changes, we are specifically looking for a leader with a naturally calming demeanor. You must be able to de-escalate high-stress situations, troubleshoot shipping delays with composure, and maintain a steady environment for your team. Additionally, proficient computer literacy is essential to manage inventory tracking, generate reports, and utilize our warehouse management systems effectively.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Directly supervise, train, and schedule a team of 4 inventory, shipping and receiving clerks. Manage workflows, and foster a collaborative, positive, and safe work environment.
Operations Management:
Oversee all daily inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring strict adherence to company standards for packaging, routing, and documentation.
Inventory Control:
Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders and packing slips. Identify, report, and resolve discrepancies or damages with vendors and carriers.
System Administration:
Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP software to process shipments, update inventory records in real-time, and generate logistical reports.
Crisis & Conflict Resolution:
Serve as the primary point of contact for shipping emergencies, carrier disputes, or urgent operational bottlenecks, relying on a calm, diplomatic approach to solve problems without disrupting team morale.
Process Improvement:
Continuously evaluate current shipping and receiving procedures to identify opportunities for cost reduction, faster turnaround times, and improved accuracy.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure the warehouse operates in full compliance with OSHA standards and internal safety protocols, conducting regular safety briefings with your team.

PM Skills:
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations, with a track record of increasing responsibility.
Leadership:
Demonstrated experience leading, motivating, and managing direct reports (experience managing teams of 3-5 people is highly preferred). College degree preferred
Education:
Associate Experience:
4-7 years
Qualifications:
Demeanor & Soft Skills:
Exceptional emotional intelligence with a famously calming presence. Must be able to absorb stress, communicate clearly under pressure, and keep the team focused and grounded during peak volume periods.
Computer Literacy:
Highly proficient in modern computer systems. Must have hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP software, inventory databases, and the Microsoft Office Suite specifically Excel.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand or walk for extended periods, and safely operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) if necessary.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with internal departments (sales, production, customer service) and external freight partners.
