  • Full-time
  • On-site $50,000/year
  • Weekly pay Full benefits About us Cardinal Novelty is a Baltimore-based importer and distributor of toys, novelties, and bulk vending products.
We supply operators, retailers, and amusement customers nationwide through cardinalnovelty.com and gumball.com , and we run our own injection molding operation producing tens of millions of capsules and eggs a year. We're a small, hands-on team where people are trusted with real responsibility quickly. The role We're adding an Assistant Warehouse Manager to work alongside our long-tenured warehouse manager and grow into a second set of hands on every part of the operation. This is a floor job, not a desk job — you'll be in the system pulling orders and quoting freight one hour, and on a pallet jack staging an LTL shipment the next. You'll be cross-trained on everything the warehouse touches so the building never depends on one person. When the Warehouse Manager is out, you're the one running the floor and making the calls. What you'll do Process, pick, pack, and stage customer orders accurately and on time Build and ship LTL freight — palletize and wrap, weigh and dimension, classify, generate BOLs, schedule pickups, and work with carriers on quotes and claims Receive inbound truckloads and import containers : unload, verify against packing lists and POs, flag shortages and damage Work in our ERP and order systems daily — order entry, inventory adjustments, cycle counts, shipping documents, tracking Handle will-call and walk-in customers at the warehouse — pull their order, answer product questions, take payment, and send them out happy Run the numbers: piece counts, case and carton quantities, freight cost per unit, inventory accuracy, order verification Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and shrink wrapper safely Keep the building organized, safe, and inspection-ready Serve as the acting lead when the Warehouse Manager is out — set the day's priorities, direct the floor team, and keep orders moving What we're looking for Comfortable with computers. You can work in an ERP or WMS, navigate spreadsheets, use email, and learn new software without hand-holding. This is a real requirement, not a nice-to-have. Solid math skills. Case packs, unit conversions, freight class and density, counts, and pricing need to be right the first time. Freight experience , especially LTL — carriers, BOLs, pallet building, and what makes a shipment cost more than it should. Customer-facing ability. You're the face of the company to anyone who walks in or calls about their order. Willing to get your hands dirty. Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly, stand and walk for a full shift, and work in a warehouse that's hot in August and cold in January. Dependable attendance and a level head when three things go wrong at once. Nice to have Forklift experience —no certification needed to apply, we'll train and certify you on the job Experience in wholesale distribution, toys/novelty, vending, or consumer goods Familiarity with importing, containers, or customs paperwork Bilingual English/Spanish Pay and benefits $50,000 per year , paid weekly, with overtime at time-and-a-half for hours over 40 Paid lunch — you're on the clock 7:00 to 3:00, a full 40-hour week Medical, dental, and vision coverage through CareFirst Health Savings Account with company contribution 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off and paid holidays Employee discount on Cardinal products Schedule Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM — a full 8-hour paid day, including a paid lunch . Occasional overtime during peak season. How to apply Send a resume to . Tell us in a sentence or two about the most complicated shipment you've ever had to get out the door. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
