Full Job Description Description:
Seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Asst. Shipping and Receiving (S&R) Manager to join our team. The Asst. Shipping & Receiving Manager reports directly to the Logistics Director, primarily supporting auxiliary logistics tasks related to S&R support. These tasks include, but are not limited to, supporting S&R in packaging and shipping, receiving, managing the wood packaging program, lead for crate construction, ordering packaging supplies, and other administrative tasks. In addition, active interaction with Sage X3, the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), Wide Area Workflow (WAWF), Vendor Shipping Module (VSM), and other related programs/systems are critical functions of this support role.
Requirements:
Duties and Responsibilities Utilizes Sage X3, PIEE, WAWF, VSM, and other systems/programs to support S&R operations Assists with writing work instructions and procedures related to logistics operations Performs basic quality inspections and reports non-conforming/damaged material to applicable departments Receives, logs, and/or documents delivered material, equipment, property, and/or supplies Manages the wood packaging program for compliance Lead for crate construction and build schedule management in coordination with the S&R Manager Supports building out commercial/mil-spec shipment orders Orders packaging supplies utilizing economic order of quantity to reduce costs, frequency and touch points Performs standard safety and maintenance checks and operates warehouse related vehicles and material handling equipment (MHE) Education / Training / Experience Requirements High school diploma and five (5) years of related experience in Logistics is required; Associates Degree or BS/BA in supply chain, logistics, or related field is a plus Small team management experience a plus Must be proficient with word and excel and able to draft coherent documents and records PIEE, WAWF, VSM, and other systems/programs experience preferred Thorough understanding of mil-spec and/or international shipping requirements and crate building preferred Basic math skills and a thorough understanding of length/weight/height measurements are a must Experience operating a forklift, MHE, power tools, and other warehouse related vehicles/equipment preferred Experience in shipping from multiple carriers (UPX, FedEx, DHL, etc.), to include international shipments a plus Additional requirements Must be able to work Mon-Fri from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Must have a valid driver's license and insurable motor vehicle record Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening test Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task Must be dependable and an independent worker Must be possess strong verbal and written communication skills Must be a team player who fosters teambuilding Safety It is SCI's policy to require safe operations and practices from all employees and to ensure a safe working environment.
