We are seeking an Installation Manager (Warehouse Operations) for a Gainesville VA-based leader in designing and building advanced protective enclosures and shielding systems for aerospace, defense, and industrial clients. Responsibilities
Equipment Installation:
Plan, schedule, and oversee the setup, installation, and commissioning of CNC machines, welding stations, industrial sewing machines, CNC routers, plasma cutters, and related production equipment.
Crew Leadership:
Direct installation crews and warehouse staff, including scheduling, task assignment, day-to-day supervision, and performance oversight.
Engineering Coordination:
Serve as the primary liaison between the warehouse floor and engineering team, translating engineering drawings and technical specifications into workable installation plans.
CAD and Layout Interpretation:
Read and work from CAD drawings and equipment layouts to guide crew activities and verify correct placement, alignment, and setup.
Warehouse Operations:
Oversee daily warehouse workflow, safety compliance, and equipment readiness.
Facility Readiness:
Coordinate with engineers on equipment specifications and facility requirements, including power, ventilation, floor loading, and installation timelines.
Troubleshooting:
Resolve installation and equipment setup issues on the floor, escalating matters to engineers or vendors when needed.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure installations meet workplace safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Scheduling and Communication:
Manage concurrent installation schedules, keep projects on track, and communicate delays, risks, and resource needs promptly.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate installation records, equipment specifications, and setup and maintenance documentation.
Training:
Train and mentor crew members on installation procedures and safety protocols.
Vendor Management:
Coordinate with equipment vendors and outside contractors as needed. Requirements
- Experience in equipment installation, industrial maintenance, or a related field, including team leadership experience.
- Ability to do domestic travel 20-30%
- Proven experience managing crews or direct reports in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial setting.
- Working knowledge of CNC machines, welding equipment, CNC routers, plasma cutters, and/or industrial sewing machines.
- Proficiency reading and working from CAD drawings, equipment layouts, and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of the mechanical, electrical, and structural requirements involved in industrial equipment installation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, vendors, and hands-on crews.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple installations and timelines at once.
- Working knowledge of OSHA or comparable workplace safety standards. Detail-Oriented, Meticulous, Organizational Skills
- Ability to solve problems on the warehouse floor and make sound decisions under time pressure. Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a similar technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360.
- Forklift and/or rigging certification.
- Experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial equipment environment. Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely lift and move materials required for assigned work, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Comfort working on a warehouse floor around heavy machinery, welding, and cutting equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to use required personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
