Materials Manager Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent. Prior airline Maintenance Materials experience preferred. Technologically skilled. Familiarity with inventory systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
These shall include, but are not limited to the following: Acting on behalf of the Materials Manager in their absence. Overall organization of inventory at their location, making sure that each facility has adequate inventory to perform work that is needed. Assisting the Materials Manager in establishing and modifying inventory policies, procedures, instructions, and information. Establishing, maintaining and updating vendor related information on the computer program for their station. Monitoring MEL/CDLs for their station to ensure material positioning for maintenance activities. Monitoring all repair order activity, working with vendors to expedite parts from repair or overhaul. Overseeing shelflife items as their station. Do not exceed the expiration date. Ensuring compliance with Hazardous Materials/Dangerous Goods regulatory requirements as they pertain to materials activity. Coordinating all aspects of station inventory operations for their station including, but not limited to timely and accurate shipping, receiving, parts segregation, warehouse transfers, parts issues, and returns to inventory. Ensure that associated computer transactions are performed in a timely and accurate manner. Enforcing stockroom security, cleanliness, and organization. Ensures the highest level of inventory integrity is maintained and that awareness of the threat of Suspected Unapproved Parts (SUPS) to that integrity is consistently high. Auditing inventory transactions to ensure accuracy of computer program and alert the Materials Manager of any trends or discrepancies. Ensuring that only approved Air Carrier Maintenance Providers approved by the Company are used.
