location: Wichita, Kansas job type: Contract salary: $45 - 55 per hour work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Visit supplier sites across heavy manufacturing commodities (machining, composites, sheet metal, raw materials) to evaluate shop-floor operations, machine capacity, and schedule risks.
In charge of the implementation of the Supplier Performance management strategy for respective suppliers.
Perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA / 5 Whys / 8D) to eliminate bottlenecks, resolve delivery delays, and drive On-Time Delivery (OTD) back to target.
Create daily/weekly supply-and-demand burn-down charts in Excel to model capacity and track recovery progress.
Connect seamlessly across all operational levels-from plant-floor workers to senior management-and translate floor data into concise PowerPoint executive summaries for C-suite stakeholders.
Must have a progressive track record in supplier management within heavy manufacturing environmentsDemonstrated history stepping onto troubled factory floors, conducting root-cause analysis, and building actionable recovery plans.
Experience managing quality metrics with a clear understanding of how poor quality and high scrap rates directly destroy OTD schedules.
Practical working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and SRM tools.
Knowledge of aviation manufacturing, supply chain, planning, engineering, and quality concepts; machine, sheet metal, casting, forging, forming, composite, and/or raw material commodities strong technical aptitude Hands-on mastery of Excel for capacity modeling, supply/demand burn-down curves, Pivot Tables, and data manipulation.
Proven ability to synthesize complex floor data into clear, high-level PowerPoint updates and executive summaries for senior leadership qualifications: Experience level: ExperiencedMinimum 5 years of experience
