Employee perks such as an onsite fitness facility, discounts from suppliers on various products and services such as insurance, wireless bundles, travel, and much more Warehouse Management and Material Handling Oversee scheduling of incoming raw material deliveries for efficient receipt and storage Coordinate the flow of materials between the departments within the plant Direct rack placements, inventory locations, and traffic patterns for efficient material flow Inspect and monitor warehouse equipment for working condition (forklifts, scanners, racks, etc.) Work with customers to arrange appropriate packing and delivery plans and specifications Develop thorough procedures for efficient picking and staging of ship orders Ensure that material receipts comply with specifications upon delivery or is otherwise properly rejected Work with customer service and carriers to coordinate receipt and quarantine of returned material Develop carrier scorecards to monitor performance (on-time, damage-free, document compliance, etc.) Participate in freight quoting activities, carrier selections, and carrier feedback Operate forklifts, scissor-lifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed Coordinate personnel staffing to ensure safety focus while meeting customer requirements Inventory Control Monitor the age and physical condition of all inventories within the plant Perform cycle counts of materials and inventories Oversee consumable supply vendor managed inventory (VMI) and replenishment programs Ensure that plant and warehouse fully adhere to FIFO inventory practices Continuous Improvement Meet or exceed KPI goals in safety, on time delivery, inventory accuracy, and shipping cost Identify and participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects Write accurate, thorough, and consistent process documentation, deploying standard work practices Perform root cause investigations and develop corrective actions to prevent recurring problems Plant Leadership Establish and maintain a culture of open communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement Provide coaching and feedback to develop team and appraise performance consistently Develop and maintain effective training programs for all team positions Motivate and mentor team members, maintaining regular visibility in each department Foster a safe work environment by adhering to all safety and regulatory procedures Champion food safety compliance and readiness, particularly by following and enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices and good housekeeping guidelines Build relationships with all departments. Assist in the development of annual business plan objectives as well as personal and team development goals Maintain record retention requirements and regulatory compliance Education Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Industrial Technologies, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or specialized degree) Professional background 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. 1-2 years of Flexographic packaging experience. 1-2 of years leadership experience Professional competencies High energy with the ability to multi-task and deliver against short deadlines. Ability to mentor, coach, and develop team members Excellent oral and written communication skills. Self-starting with the ability to function with minimal supervision and direct the activities of others. Strong organizational skills to maintain control over large amounts of constantly changing information. Ability to manage inventories. Ability to analytically review data and plan accordingly. Working knowledge of Making Materials flow methodologies. Strong understanding of radius functionality. Proficient in the use of computer equipment and software, including all Microsoft Office applications and Windows-based ERP programs.
