INVENTORY CONTROL MATERIALS SUPERVISOR

FUNCTION
Responsible for obtaining the maximum value from inventory and the inventory process as a whole. Directly responsible for delivering the maximum strategic value of inventory and inventory logistics to the company through advanced inventory management principles and practices across all locations.
TYPICAL DUTIES
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. Extensive knowledge of the objective, methods and procedures used to lead initial and sustained activities of inventory personnel. Ability to assess and monitor the internal requirements of the organization from a technical and commercial point of view as it relates to inventory. Knowledge of supply chain management sufficient to obtain, analyze and summate internal inventory requirements, convey requirements to others and gain consensus of direction and strategy. Development, implementation and management of MRP related to receiving, storage and issuance of purchased goods and raw material, in-process inventory and finished goods inventory. Demonstrates ability to coordinate with other divisions and departments in a cross-functional manner to achieve a shared fivison or accomplish a set of specific objectives developed by process or strategy. Maintains a superior and up-to-date knowledge of advanced Supply Chain Management and related inventory practices. Foreign Trade Zone Administrator for all facilities FTZ entries and documentation including the US Customs Clearance documentation and reports. Manage the inventory (including controlled inventory) of material in the centralized warehouse.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of inventory control, MRP systems, material handling and shipping, and production scheduling. Good knowledge of division products and their manufacturing processes or the ability to acquire it quickly. Some knowledge of purchasing procedures. Ability to affect record maintenance/reports, as well as cost efficient inventory processing. Safe material processing. Ability to direct the activities of others and work effectively with subordinates and department managers.
APICS/CPIM
certification.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
Completion of two or more years, depending on level, of post high school education in production management and inventory control, APICS certification preferred. 4-6 years combined experience in material handling, production scheduling and supervision; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that result in the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
