Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dealership Parts Manager to lead our parts department with enthusiasm and expertise. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of automotive parts and accessories, ensuring seamless operations that support our service and sales teams. Your leadership will drive efficiency, optimize supply chain processes, and foster strong relationships with suppliers to meet the demands of a fast-paced automotive environment. Responsibilities Manage the entire parts inventory lifecycle, including sourcing, ordering, receiving, and storage to ensure optimal stock levels. Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms to secure the best value for the dealership. Oversee procurement management processes, including demand planning and parts sourcing strategies that align with sales forecasts and service needs. Utilize inventory management systems and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software to track parts availability, perform data entry, and generate reports for analysis. Coordinate logistics for shipping & receiving, ensuring timely delivery of parts while maintaining accurate records through parts administration systems. Collaborate with service teams to understand their parts requirements and support automotive diagnostics and vehicle systems knowledge. Supervise parts staff by providing training on internal communication protocols, equipment repair procedures, and the use of inventory management. Monitor pricing strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining competitive market positioning. Support internal communication channels to facilitate smooth operations across departments involved in auto body repair, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts sourcing, and equipment repair. Qualifications Proven experience in supply chain management within an automotive or manufacturing environment. Strong supplier management experience with excellent negotiation skills. Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle systems, and automotive parts & accessories. Familiarity with warehouse management practices, logistics inventory management, and inventory control systems. Hands-on experience with ERP systems, Parts Management Software, CMMS platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage procurement processes including demand planning, sourcing strategies, purchasing, and pricing negotiations. Mechanical aptitude combined with automotive service knowledge to understand technical requirements for parts sourcing. Valid forklift certification preferred; experience operating equipment used in shipping & receiving is a plus. Excellent internal communication skills with a focus on customer service for both internal teams and external suppliers. Strong data entry skills along with attention to detail in order management system documentation.
