Job Description
Lead the Logistics Operation Behind Critical Disaster Response Efforts Active Deployment Systems is a global disaster response organization that provides rapid logistical support, resources, and services when and where they are needed most. We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our warehouse and laydown yard operations in San Marcos, TX. This role is responsible for ensuring operational readiness, inventory accuracy, workforce performance, safety and regulatory compliance, and the efficient movement of critical assets supporting disaster response efforts. What You'll Own As Operations Manager, you will have direct responsibility for the performance, safety, and continuous improvement of warehouse and yard operations. Operational Leadership Lead daily warehouse and yard operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, staging, shipping, and transportation coordination. Ensure operational readiness of over 200 assets to support rapidly changing customer and disaster response requirements. Balance labor, equipment, and facility resources to meet operational objectives. Team Development & Accountability Recruit, train, mentor, and develop 3-5 warehouse and yard personnel. Establish clear performance expectations and accountability standards. Promote a culture of ownership, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Inventory & Asset Management Maintain accurate inventory controls and cycle count programs. Ensure proper storage, tracking, handling, and disposition of company assets. Collaborate with operations management to maintain operational readiness levels. Safety, Compliance & Quality Maintain a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with OSHA, company, and customer requirements. Conduct safety audits, inspections, and corrective action programs. Investigate incidents and implement preventative measures. Ensure operational documentation and reporting are accurate, complete, and audit-ready for all assigned assets. What Success Looks Like Within your first year, you will: Improve inventory accuracy and operational visibility. Reduce inefficiencies through process improvements and KPI-driven decision-making. Maintain a strong safety record and compliance posture. Ensure reliable support of domestic and international response operations. Qualifications Required U.S. Citizen. Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. High school diploma or GED. Minimum 5 years of experience leading warehouse, logistics, supply chain, military logistics, disaster response, or related operations. Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory or management experience. Experience managing inventory control systems and warehouse operations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to travel up to 30%, including possible international travel. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform duties in austere environments. Preferred Experience managing multi-site or field-supported operations. Experience managing fleet vehicles or assets. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline. Experience with WMS programs and inventory management systems. Experience supporting government, military, disaster response, emergency management, or expeditionary logistics operations.
