This position is responsible for keeping vehicles safe, reliable, compliant, and available for daily operations while controlling fleet costs and minimizing downtime. Responsibilities Manage daily fleet operations, maintenance, repairs, and vehicle readiness. Schedule and track preventive maintenance, inspections, oil changes, tires, brakes, and repairs. Manage California BIT inspection compliance , including scheduling inspections, tracking due dates, maintaining records, and coordinating corrective repairs. Maintain accurate vehicle records, including maintenance, mileage, inspections, registrations, insurance, recalls, warranties, and service history. Coordinate with repair shops, dealerships, towing companies, vendors, and insurance providers. Obtain and review repair estimates and invoices; coordinate repair approvals. Coordinate accident repairs, towing, and insurance claims. Monitor vehicle downtime and work to return vehicles to service quickly. Track fuel, mileage, maintenance expenses, and other fleet costs. Coordinate vehicle acquisition, replacement, transfer, and disposal. Monitor GPS/telematics and maintain accurate fleet asset records. Prepare basic fleet reports and communicate vehicle status, expenses, and compliance issues to management. Ensure fleet operations comply with company policies and applicable laws and regulations. Maintain an organized fleet area and perform other duties as assigned. Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Qualifications Experience in fleet management, automotive service, transportation, or a related field. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Experience with California BIT inspections preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple vehicles, vendors, repairs, and deadlines. Experience with Microsoft Office and/or fleet management systems preferred. Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
