Job Description
Job Summary:
The Lease Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and growing the company's lease purchase program for independent contractor drivers (owner-operators). This role manages the full lifecycle of lease agreements—from driver onboarding and qualification to contract performance and completion—while balancing driver success, fleet utilization, and company profitability. The ideal candidate understands the trucking industry, driver needs, and the financial structures that support lease-to-own equipment programs.Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and manage the company's lease purchase program for drivers Recruit, screen, and onboard drivers into lease purchase agreements Evaluate driver qualifications, including driving history, financial stability, and business readiness Structure and explain lease agreements, payment terms, and ownership pathways to drivers Partner with recruiting and operations teams to ensure consistent driver pipeline and fleet coverage Monitor driver performance, settlement statements, and payment compliance Proactively support drivers to improve success rates, retention, and contract completion Manage repossessions, defaults, and contract terminations when necessary Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, lease agreements, and applicable federal/state laws Collaborate with maintenance and fleet teams to manage equipment assignments and lifecycle Track and report key metrics such as driver retention, default rates, and profitability Continuously improve program structure based on market trends and driver feedbackQualifications:
3-7+ years of experience in trucking, transportation, fleet management, or equipment leasing Strong understanding of owner-operator models and lease purchase programs Knowledge of DOT regulations and trucking industry standards Experience reviewing driver records (MVRs), settlements, and operational metrics Solid financial acumen, including budgeting and payment structures Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex agreements clearly Ability to manage sensitive conversations related to performance or financial hardshipPreferred Skills:
Experience working directly with owner-operators or independent contractors Familiarity with TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and driver settlement software Background in driver recruiting or retention strategiesKey Competencies:

Office-based or terminal environment with regular interaction with drivers Availability to handle urgent driver or operational issues as neededJob Type:
