Transportation Manager

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Transportation Manager to lead our transportation operations and drive efficiency across our supply chain network. Responsibilities Develop and execute comprehensive transportation strategies aligned with company goals, focusing on freight optimization, fleet management, and cost control. Oversee transportation management systems (TMS) to monitor shipments, analyze data, and improve routing efficiency. Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), freight forwarders, and carriers to ensure service quality and compliance. Coordinate transportation planning with demand forecasting, production schedules, and inventory management to support smooth warehouse distribution and order fulfillment. Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency. Supervise warehouse operations related to shipping & receiving, dispatching, and inventory control to ensure seamless logistics flow. Prepare budgets, monitor profit & loss statements, and analyze supply chain analytics to optimize costs while maintaining high service levels. Requirements A Minimum of 5 years of management experience in transportation. Proven experience in transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems such as AS400 or equivalent platforms, and supply chain management software. Strong background in logistics operations including freight management, warehouse supervision, procurement, and inventory control. Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies or other continuous improvement tools. Supervisory experience overseeing teams involved in shipping & receiving, dispatching, or warehouse distribution functions. Knowledge of fleet management, materials management, demand planning, production planning, and procurement processes. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), warehouse experience including forklift operation certification preferred. Excellent analytical skills with expertise in supply chain analytics to inform decision-making and optimize operational performance.
