  • Works collaboratively under the direction of the Laboratory Director and Laboratory Manager to investigate, develop, validate and implement mass spectrometry assays.
Reviews literature and participates in research efforts by investigating and evaluating new methods. Develops new method validation plan, organizes data, prepares data for publication and peer review, and participates in formal presentations as needed. Develops and prepares data analysis reports, quality assurance metrics, procedures and training checklists.

  • Perform testing, evaluate accuracy of data and report results or findings. Recognize problems and take appropriate measures for resolution. Determine if test results fall within expected parameters and reporting protocols. Assess the validity of the test results in relation to clinical conditions or technical factors. Knowledgeable of relevant factors which can influence test results.

  • Responsible for documenting and monitoring quality control and quality assurance programs.
Recognizes and communicates values and trends that exceed quality control decision levels and takes appropriate action to resolve. Prepares and reviews laboratory documentation and procedures based on CAP, CLIA and other regulatory agency guidelines. Participates in quality assurance programs such as proficiency testing and calibration verification by collecting data, reviewing results and, if required, implementing corrective action recommendations.

  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the mass spectrometer and associated equipment. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting. Document maintenance procedures and corrective action steps.
  • 5%•Completes all required regulatory documentation such as fire evacuation, training checklists and competency assessments.
Adheres to chemical, biohazard and physical safety protocols.
  • 5%•Responsible for maintaining laboratory reagents and supplies including inventory, ordering, storage, and disposal.
Qualifications Required qualifications:
Advanced degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related science field with one or more years of research training. Must be self-motivated, organized, detail orientated, independent and have excellent critical thinking skills.
Preferred qualifications:
Advanced degree (M.S.) in physical science field. Hands on experience with
LC-MS/MS
instrumentation, method development and bioanalytical method validation.
Pay and Benefits Pay Range:
$71,982
  • 75,000/annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience
