Job Description

Under supervision, the yard supervisor supervises students during recess and lunch periods and does related work as assigned. The Yard Supervisors reports directly to the principal at the school and are responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment.

11:45 - 1:10 Monday -
Friday Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Supervises students during the lunch period at the lunch tables, in the Multipurpose room, restrooms and on the playground and school grounds. 2. Enforces school rules on campus and completes referrals as needed. 3. Reports special behavior problems and works with school principal if a behavior log is needed. 4. Encourages and promotes courtesy among children. 5. Observes and assures that safety rules are followed. 6. Attends to minor injuries on the playground or directs students to the office for additional care as needed. 7. Observes contents of lunches and have knowledge of severe allergies to watch for allergic reactions. 8. Supervises students in assigned classroom(s) during lunch recess on rainy days. 9. Maintain awareness of campus and surroundings; refer adults without visitor badges to the office; and report any unusual circumstances. 10. Use the identified communication process to report incidents on the yard to the office. 11. Maintain playground first aid supplies and safety equipment (i.e. fanny packs, ice cooler, orange vests, whistles, etc.)
