2nd Shift Join the NexGen Team NexGen is seeking a dependable, safety-focused 2nd Shift Floor Supervisor to provide hands-on leadership to our production team. This position is responsible for coordinating second-shift production activities, directing daily workflow, supporting employees, and helping ensure safety, quality, production, inventory, and on-time delivery requirements are met. This is a hands-on supervisory position that combines day-to-day team leadership with direct support of manufacturing operations. What You'll Do Direct and coordinate second-shift production activities to support safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery. Assign daily work and coordinate employees and labor resources based on production priorities. Monitor work-in-process reports and work orders to support production schedules. Coordinate employee breaks and monitor attendance in accordance with company policies and production requirements. Provide day-to-day coaching, training, and performance feedback to production employees. Monitor compliance with work instructions, safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies. Address employee performance or conduct concerns within the scope of the position and escalate issues to the Production Manager as appropriate. Communicate production, material, scheduling, and purchasing needs to appropriate departments. Coordinate the movement and staging of materials between departments and production processes. Safely operate a forklift to move materials as required. Support established inventory-rotation procedures and maintain accurate material and inventory records. Accurately issue parts and record labor and time to work orders using the ERP system. Perform final and secondary inspections as required. Stage parts and ensure required first-article inspection reports are completed. Identify and report quality issues and assist with appropriate follow-up. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment. Reinforce applicable company safety procedures and work practices. Provide hands-on production support and operate equipment as needed. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Manufacturing and fabrication experience. Ability to obtain and maintain company-required forklift operator certification. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production specifications. Ability to accurately read and use tape measures, calipers, and other applicable measuring tools. Ability to understand and follow established safety procedures and work practices. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Approximately two years of supervisory or team-lead experience. Inventory management experience. Experience working with ERP systems. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Mechanical aptitude. Physical Demands The physical demands associated with performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, include: Regular standing and movement throughout the manufacturing environment, with periodic sitting while completing administrative responsibilities. Bending, reaching, twisting, kneeling, and other movements associated with supervising and supporting manufacturing operations. Frequently lifting, moving, positioning, or otherwise handling materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Work Environment & Schedule Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment. Employees may be exposed to elevated noise levels, dust, moving equipment, and elevated temperatures, particularly during summer months. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn, and all applicable safety procedures must be followed. This is a 2nd-shift position. Overtime, including mandatory overtime, may be required based on production and business needs.
