Job Description

Job Overview We are a small, family-owned e-commerce company based in Lansing, and we're looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Warehouse Coordinator to help us build out and manage our growing warehouse operation. This is a hands-on role. You'll be responsible for processing customer returns, inspecting and repacking products, fulfilling orders, organizing inventory, preparing shipments, and helping keep the warehouse running smoothly day to day. Because our warehouse operation is still growing, we're not looking for someone who simply wants to follow a rigid set of procedures. We want someone who is comfortable taking ownership, spotting better ways to do things, and helping us build practical processes that can grow with the company. This position will begin part-time at approximately 20-30 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional hours as our warehouse operation grows. For the right person, there is also a long-term opportunity to advance into a warehouse lead, supervisory, or management role as we expand the team. Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and process customer returns. Determine whether returned products can be repackaged and returned to sellable inventory. Repackage products to meet company quality standards. Pick, pack, and ship customer and business orders accurately and efficiently. Receive incoming inventory and organize products within the warehouse. Move pallets and inventory using a forklift or pallet jack as needed. Maintain accurate inventory counts and communicate discrepancies. Prepare shipments for parcel carriers and freight pickups. Keep warehouse work areas clean, organized, and safe. Follow company safety procedures and proper material-handling practices. Assist with periodic inventory counts and general warehouse organization. Work with our operations team to improve warehouse layout, workflows, and day-to-day processes. Help create simple, repeatable systems as the warehouse operation grows. Speak up when you see a better, safer, or more efficient way to get something done. Requirements Previous warehouse, fulfillment, shipping, receiving, or inventory experience preferred. Strong attention to detail, especially when inspecting products and handling inventory. Comfortable working independently and managing daily priorities with limited supervision. Willingness to take ownership of the warehouse and help improve how things are done. Comfortable performing hands-on warehouse work throughout the shift. Ability to lift and move boxes and products safely. Ability to operate, or willingness to learn to operate, a forklift and pallet jack. Basic computer skills and comfort learning shipping and inventory software. Strong organizational and communication skills. Reliable, dependable, and comfortable working in a small-team environment. Forklift experience or certification is a plus, but not required. What We're Looking For We're a small team, so attitude and ownership matter just as much as experience. The right person for this role is someone who likes keeping things organized, notices when something could work better, and isn't afraid to suggest a solution. You should be comfortable working independently, but also enjoy being part of a close-knit team where everyone occasionally pitches in outside of their usual lane. We're looking at this as more than just filling an immediate warehouse need. As the company grows, we expect our warehouse operation and team to grow with it. Someone who comes in, takes ownership, helps us build strong processes, and performs well will have the opportunity to take on additional hours, increased responsibility, and potentially move into a warehouse lead, supervisor, or manager position in the future.
