Purpose:

This document describes the responsibilities, key tasks and functions of the Shipping and Distribution Process Lead at the Hebron Klosterman Bakery.

Summary:

The Shipping Leadperson has the overall responsibility of assisting the Warehouse Manager. The Shipping Leadperson will assist in the operation of the Shipping Department while ensuring all company goals of safe and quality products are followed while achieving the financial goals of the Hebron Klosterman Bakery. The Shipping Leadperson will ensure finished products meet all regulatory, statutory, customer and company requirements governing food safety and quality.

Responsibilities:

The Shipping Leadperson key job tasks and functions include but are not limited to: Provide coaching, training and mentoring of shipping and distribution team personnel. Complete daily, weekly and monthly inventory counts on finished product trays. Communication with other Klosterman Baking Company facilities and shipping depots on tray inventories and or shipments. Ensure all trailers are loaded properly and in accordance with the shipping load sheet. Record appropriate information on shipping and distribution documentation. Complete BOL's, pack lists and any other documentation needed for DOT compliance. Facilitating daily pre-shift and pass-down meetings with shipping and distribution team personnel. Ensuring all production finished product counts are accurate and adequate to fulfill customer orders. Provide innovative ideas on departmental and employee improvements as applicable. Verify and adjust shipping and distribution forms and bill of lading documents as necessary. Attend all facility and corporate meetings as required. Ensure all trailers are clean and secured with a security / shipping seal prior to shipment. Ensuring shipping and distribution department personnel complete all safety, food safety and job specific training activities as required. Must be certified in Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Operation Any other job tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Manager. Report all inventory discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager. Follow all safety requirements to ensure equipment and personnel safety. Report all property damage incidents and/or accidents to the Warehouse Manager immediately. Follow all current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's). Complete all necessary trainings (i.e., Forklift, Food Safety, and Safety). Must maintain an organized, clean and sanitary working area. Complete all required documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Communicates well with others (i.e., operators, utility personnel, Supervisors, Managers). Communicate with other departments within the Hebron Klosterman Bakery on: o Tray inventory needs o Inventory shortages o Non-Conforming Product Holds o Staled product returns o Pallet inventories Direct and assign all shipping and distribution employees their daily tasks. Coordinate with production on finished product needs to complete orders. Any other job tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.

Verification:

Verification of this job description will be conducted by the Warehouse Manager through daily observation of job tasks and functions.

Training:

Training on this job description will take place initially upon hire, annually, as a refresher, and as needed with changes to personnel and job functions.

Records:

Employee training records are retained per Klosterman Baking Company record retention requirements.
