McMinnville Water and Light is hiring for the position of Lead Water Distribution Operator.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Lead Water Distribution Operator plays an important role at the utility by supervising crews to construct, operate, and maintain the MW&L water distribution system. This individual actively collaborates with supervisors, Engineering, subordinates, and contractors in the planning, implementation, and completion of projects. This position requires a team player who works harmoniously, efficiently, and safely with office staff and field crew employees. This position exercises independent discretion to schedule and direct operations and maintenance duties. Position requires the employee to be available to work regular or irregular schedules, including holidays, weekends, and on a rotating schedule for emergency standby call response.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of five years of experience in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution, water transmission, and water storage systems and facilities. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be qualifying. Special Requirements Oregon Class A CDL driver's license with air brake and tanker endorsement (or ability to acquire within 6 months of hire date) with acceptable driving record. Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug test, and physical. Certified as a State of Oregon Water Distribution Operator 3 with three years of Operational Decision Making (ODM) experience, or ability to obtain within twelve months of hire date. First Aid/CPR certifications; flagging certification. Live within 30 minutes of McMinnville city limits. Preferred Qualifications Three years of Operational Decision Making (ODM) experience preferred. Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) certification desired. Two years of college-level coursework with science-based credits is desired. Supervisory experience in a construction environment is highly desired.
