• Greenville is seeking an experienced, highly responsible, and safety-focused Chemical Shipping Lead for a leading chemical manufacturing customer in the Piedmont, SC area .

Working directly alongside the Logistics Manager, you will take a hands-on lead role in overseeing daily shipping and receiving workflows, managing bulk chemical and liquid tanker off-loading operations, and ensuring your team operates with 100% accuracy, safety compliance, and professional efficiency.

• Chemical Shipping Lead Primary Responsibilities include: Your main responsibility is the hands-on lead oversight of bulk liquid freight movements and shipping accuracy , ensuring all logistics operations align with strict safety and quality standards.

Team & Dock Leadership:

Guide day-to-day shipping/receiving dock activities, prioritize daily workloads, and ensure team members follow all facility operating procedures.

Tanker & Liquid Off-Loading:

Perform and oversee the safe off-loading of bulk chemicals and liquids from incoming trucks and tanker trailers.

Documentation & Compliance:

Verify all shipping and receiving documentation prior to unloading to ensure product meets exact specs; complete detailed inspection forms for every outbound shipment.

Staging & Logistics Planning:

Ensure orders are staged the day prior to shipping whenever possible, and keep staging areas cleared daily in preparation for next-day runs.

Safety & PPE Enforcement:

Enforce all OSHA requirements and facility dress code policies, leading by example in the proper use of full chemical suits, respirators, gloves, and safety gear.

Managerial Coordination:

Collaborate closely with the Logistics Manager and plant production teams to communicate daily priorities, resolve logistics bottlenecks, and escalate concerns.

Area Housekeeping:

Maintain an exceptionally clean, organized, and audit-ready shipping and receiving department.

Chemical Shipping Lead Requirements include:

Required Experience:

Minimum of 3+ years of chemical or liquid shipping/receiving experience , including direct working knowledge of loading and off-loading chemical tankers.

Leadership Capabilities:

Prior experience as a Lead, Senior Associate, or Supervisor in an industrial chemical logistics environment is highly preferred.

Licensing & Certification:

Active Forklift Certification and a valid driver's license are required.

PPE & Physical Capabilities:

Must be comfortable donning full protective gear—including respirators, chemical suits, safety shoes, and gloves—and capable of climbing ladders/steps in full suit gear.

Physical Demands:

Significant walking, standing, reaching, bending, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly.

Schedule Flexibility:

Ability to work a flexible schedule with required overtime (nights, weekends, or holidays as needed to support chemical deliveries).

Outstanding communication skills, a positive attitude, strong ethics/honesty, and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
