Founded in 1997, Sweet Maria's Coffee is a family-run green coffee importing business located in Oakland. Hours:

40 paid hours per week Employees will receive a 30-minute unpaid, duty-free meal period each workday. Paid rest periods will be provided as required by law. Overtime will be paid when applicable and required by law. Mandatory availability is required during designated blackout periods, including the period between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day .

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Accurately picking and packing wholesale and retail orders for shipment Operating and monitoring coffee-filling equipment used to repackage green coffee into various bag sizes, including one

• pound bags Filling, weighing, labeling, sealing, and preparing coffee products for shipment Safely operating warehouse machinery and other job-related equipment Loading, unloading, moving, stacking, and organizing coffee, products, packaging materials, and supplies Performing general warehouse and facility chores, including sweeping, vacuuming, trash and debris removal, and equipment wipe-downs Assisting with basic grounds-maintenance duties shared by staff, including weeding, watering, pruning, sweeping outdoor areas, and other routine outdoor upkeep Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment Following all company safety policies and standard operating procedures Following the rules, policies, procedures, and standards contained in the Sweet Maria's Coffee Employee Handbook Performing other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to work Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m to 5:30 p.m Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced warehouse environment Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to understand and communicate work assignments, safety instructions, warnings, and emergency information in English at the level necessary to perform the position safely and effectively Basic computer skills, including email and the ability to use other job-related software and equipment At least one year of warehouse, production, picking and packing, or comparable fast-paced work experience is preferred A college degree is not required Three professional references must be provided

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The essential physical functions and working conditions of this position include: Lifting, carrying, and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis Using a buddy system and appropriate material-handling equipment to move items weighing more than 50 pounds , including items weighing 100 pounds or more Standing and walking for extended periods, potentially for the duration of an eight-hour shift, primarily on concrete flooring Regularly bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and reaching overhead Performing repetitive hand and arm movements Pushing and pulling carts, equipment, products, and other materials Safely climbing and using ladders and step stools Safely operating coffee-filling and other warehouse equipment Working indoors and occasionally outdoors Working in an environment that may include fluctuating temperatures, coffee dust or chaff, and moderate equipment noise

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Any offer of employment will be conditional upon: Submission of three professional references and completion and verification of the related reference checks Successful completion of a post-offer, pre-placement drug and alcohol screening Successful completion of a post-offer, pre-placement job-related physical examination Post-incident drug or alcohol testing may be required when permitted by law and when the circumstances indicate that possible impairment may have contributed to the incident. Testing may also be required upon reasonable suspicion of impairment, in accordance with company policy and applicable law. Candidates may not begin working until Sweet Maria's Coffee confirms that all applicable pre-employment requirements have been completed and provides a confirmed start date.

Upon hire, the employee must complete Form I-9 and present original, acceptable documentation establishing identity and authorization to work in the United States within the timeframe required by federal law. Employees may choose which acceptable documentation to present from the Form I-9 Lists of Acceptable Documents.

INTRODUCTORY PERIOD, PERFORMANCE REVIEWS, AND AT-WILL EMPLOYMENT

The first 90 days of employment will be considered an introductory period. During this period, Sweet Maria's Coffee will assess attendance, punctuality, performance, conduct, ability to perform the responsibilities of the position, and overall suitability for the role. Full-time employees generally receive an annual performance review and may be considered for a performance-based wage increase. A performance review does not guarantee a wage increase or continued employment. Employment with Sweet Maria's Coffee is at will. This means that either the employee or Sweet Maria's Coffee may end the employment relationship at any time, with or without advance notice and with or without cause, subject to applicable law. Completion of the introductory period does not alter the at-will employment relationship.
