Job Description

Position Summary Broomfield FISH is a food pantry and family resource center whose mission is to meet our neighbors' basic human needs and help prevent hunger and homelessness. The Food Pantry Driver and Warehouse Assistant supports FISH's food procurement, transportation, storage, and distribution operations. This is a temporary position anticipated to begin on or around September 15th, 2026 and end on November 30, 2026. Continuation through the anticipated end date is preferred but is not a guarantee of employment for any specific duration. Essential Duties Safely operate FISH's box truck and transit van within Broomfield and surrounding communities to pick up food from grocery stores, partner organizations, and food-drive sites. Conduct required vehicle-safety inspections and promptly report vehicle or safety concerns. Safely maneuver and park vehicles in loading areas and other confined spaces. Load and unload food donations using appropriate equipment and safe material-handling practices. Weigh and record donations and ensure food is stored in the appropriate location. Pull items from the warehouse, stock the Marketplace, and prepare food-delivery boxes. Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse, Marketplace, vehicle, refrigerator, and freezer areas. Follow FISH safety procedures, food-handling practices, and applicable public-health requirements. Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers. Perform other related duties consistent with the position. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 25 years old, as required by FISH's commercial automobile insurance carrier. Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets FISH's vehicle-safety and automobile-insurance requirements. Eligibility to operate FISH vehicles under FISH's commercial automobile insurance policy. Experience safely operating a box truck, cargo van, or comparable vehicle. Dependable attendance and ability to work the established schedule. Ability to communicate effectively and work respectfully with staff, volunteers, donors, community partners, and participants. Ability to follow safety, food-handling, and recordkeeping procedures. A commercial driver's license is not required for the vehicles currently assigned to this position. Physical and Environmental Requirements This position regularly involves standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and loading and unloading food and supplies. The employee must be able to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally move items weighing up to 75 pounds, using available assistance or equipment when appropriate. The position includes work outdoors in varying weather conditions and inside walk-in refrigerators and freezers. These essential functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. FISH will consider reasonable accommodations that enable a qualified individual to perform the position's essential functions. Pre-Employment Requirements A final offer will be contingent upon: Authorization for and satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record review Eligibility to drive under FISH's automobile-insurance requirements Satisfactory completion of a job-related background check Information obtained through these reviews will be evaluated consistently and in accordance with applicable law. Compensation and Benefits The anticipated hourly wage range is $21.00-$26.00. The starting wage will be based on relevant experience, qualifications and internal equity. Minimally qualified applicants should expect to start in the bottom third of the range. Benefits available to this temporary position include Colorado paid sick leave in accordance with the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act. Employees may also be eligible for Colorado Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) benefits in accordance with state program requirements.
