Job Description
Sirius Staffing is hiring a Material Handler for a large chemical manufacturing facility in Wyoming, IL. This an on-going assignment, with no set end date, supporting daily operations within the shipping/receiving depart.
Safely move materials using a forklift, pallet jack, or company vehicle.
Pull, stage, and put away materials in designated locations (warehouse, hotboxes, production staging areas).Prepare and process orders according to BOL and department instructions.
Verify paperwork and quantities for inbound shipments.
Obtain required signatures for inbound/outbound shipments.
Load and unload trucks, containers, and LTL shipments.
Label shipments per requirements.
Inspect packaging on outgoing shipments.
Collect raw material samples as required (excluding technical).Block and brace shipments.
Maintain housekeeping and organization of warehouse materials.
Complete required documentation, including:
Loading/unloading tally sheetsShift turnover checklistsWarehouse utilization metricsPerform accurate cycle counts.
Tag or label materials and ensure proper identification. RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GEDValid driver's licenseForklift experience requiredReliable, detail‑oriented, and able to work with minimal supervisionBasic computer skills; SAP and Microsoft experience preferred Safety & Compliance ResponsibilitiesResponsible Care Management Systems (RCMS)Follow all site standards, policies, and procedures related to safety, industrial hygiene, security/CTPAT, and environmental compliance.
Promote a safety‑first mindset and reinforce safe work practices. Safety, Health & EnvironmentPerform all duties in alignment with plant safety expectations.
Follow applicable RCRA, SPCC, and Hazmat procedures.
Review and ask questions about safety materials (MSDS, JSA).Participate in safety meetings, programs, and incident investigations to support continuous improvement. Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM In this role you will ensure all material‑handling activities meet regulatory, safety, and documentation standards. This role involves moving, staging, and organizing materials throughout the facility while maintaining accurate records and safe work practices.
