MATERIAL HANDLER 1ST SHIFT

POSITION SUMMARY

The Material Handler participates in using powered material handling equipment such as a forklift, turret truck, man up order picker, etc., to move pallets of customer product from one location to another in the Vista warehouse facility. Related job tasks include stretch-wrapping pallets for transport sturdiness (either by hand or on an automated turntable), using manual material movement equipment to move cartons (e.g., 2-wheel dolly), and recording material movements into the WMS system with an RF gun.

POSITION DETAILS

Unloading Trailers-unload pallets from trailers into the receiving area Loading Trailers- load pallets onto trailers from staging area Pallet PutAways- move pallets from receiving, staging, and other locations into the inventory storage area Pallet ReStocks / Picking-move pallets from the inventory storage area to the production line staging area RF Scanning-all loading, unloading, moving, staging, and picking activities are recorded with RF guns by scanning pallet tags and "From" and "To" locations accurately Affiliated Tasks-stretch-wrap pallets of cartons for secure material handling and transport, either on the automated stretch-wrap turntable or by hand, clean up debris and scrap materials in the warehouse, as time allows.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Get on and off power material handling equipment (forklifts, turret trucks, man up order pickers, etc.) multiple times through an 8-hour shift, possibly as many as 20-25 times; Lift and relocate multiple cartons or other materials weighing as much as 60 lbs. each; Travel on material handling equipment across cracked and/or uneven floors sections, causing vibrations and bumps for the Operator; Manually exert pressure to stretch wrap a pallet of cartons by hand. Use a large broom to sweep large sections of the warehouse floor. The Material Handler / Forklift Operator/ Turret Truck Driver is required to have at least six months of forklift experience and successfully complete testing conducted by supervisors or assistant supervisors.
