Material Handler - Straight Night Shift Kanzaki Specialty Papers Inc., located in Ware, Massachusetts, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Oji Holdings Co., Ltd., one of the largest paper companies in the world. We manufacture high-quality direct thermal paper for the retail, logistics, medical, gaming, and industrial markets. Position Summary We are currently seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Material Handler to join our manufacturing team. The Material Handler position incorporates handling and moving all materials throughout the entire plant and manufacturing operation. This includes, but is not limited to, unloading inbound freight, supplying machines with materials for production, moving WIP and finished goods throughout the mill as directed, and loading outbound freight to customers or other warehouses. A valid tow motor license is required in order to fulfill this position as well as a working knowledge of the use of our AS400 computer system as needed. The ability to lift 60-75 lbs.

Compensation Union Position Starting Rate:

$22.27/hour after successful completion of the introductory period (360 hours worked)

Shift Differential:

$1.30/hour for night shift

Overtime:

4 hours paid at the overtime rate every shift Pre-employment drug screening required. Schedule 12-hour night shifts: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM 12-hour shifts Employees typically work 36-60 hours per week Additional overtime opportunities are frequently available Essential Duties & Responsibilities The operation of a tow motor with a clamp, prong or fork attachment. Supply raw and/or WIP material to #22, #23, and #24 slitters. Unload inbound freight and label accordingly. Load outbound freight and label accordingly. Move all raw, WIP and finished goods throughout the mill as directed. Collect and dispose of all waste paper accumulated throughout the mill. Perform staging and packaging operations for outbound freight. (Including AS400 operations) Maintain inventory accuracy through timely and proper transaction into MIS system. This involves proper inventory protocol; scanning, FIFO, location control etc. Ensure adequate supply of cores, pallets, etc. at all necessary machines. Maintain a clean safe work environment throughout the mill. Perform fuel tank changes as needed. Observe and obey all safety rules. Perform other duties as required or assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Manufacturing, production, mixing, or machine operation experience preferred. Ability to accurately follow formulas, work instructions, and established procedures. Basic computer skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to safely operate industrial and material-handling equipment; towmotor/forklift experience preferred. Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to lift 60 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a 12-hour shift. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with handling raw materials and operating production equipment. Ability to work around industrial machinery and material handling equipment. Regular exposure to normal factory conditions. Some exposure to dust, fumes, odors, and wet conditions.
