Job Description:
Injection Molding Material Handler Position Summary The Injection Molding Material Handler is responsible for ensuring that raw materials, regrind, packaging, and production supplies are available to support efficient and uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining material flow throughout the facility while following established safety, quality, and inventory procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supply injection molding machines with the correct raw materials according to production schedules and work instructions. Load and unload resin, colorants, additives, and other production materials using appropriate equipment. Verify material identification, lot numbers, and quantities before delivering materials to production. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, material handling equipment, dryers, blenders, and conveying systems as trained and authorized. Maintain proper material flow to ensure molding machines do not experience material shortages or unnecessary downtime. Assist with material changes and cleanouts between production runs. Return unused materials to designated storage locations and ensure proper identification and labeling. Monitor and maintain material drying and handling equipment according to established procedures. Handle, sort, and manage regrind material in accordance with company quality standards. Maintain accurate inventory transactions and material usage records using company systems. Supply packaging materials and other production supplies to molding machines as needed. Keep material storage and production areas clean, organized, and safe. Perform routine inspections of material handling equipment and report any maintenance or safety concerns. Follow all company safety policies, quality procedures, and housekeeping standards. Assist production, warehouse, and quality personnel as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling experience preferred; injection molding experience is a plus. Forklift experience or willingness to complete company forklift certification. Ability to read and follow work instructions, material labels, and production documentation. Basic computer and inventory system skills preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately identify and handle materials. Ability to work independently while effectively communicating with production team members. Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to regularly lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and machinery. Work Environment This position works primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment around injection molding equipment, raw materials, and powered industrial vehicles. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and must be worn in accordance with company policies. Key Performance Expectations Success in this position is measured by: Maintaining consistent material availability for production. Minimizing machine downtime caused by material shortages. Accurate material identification and inventory transactions. Compliance with safety and quality procedures. Maintaining clean and organized work areas. Supporting efficient production and on-time customer deliveries.
