Job Description Job Title Material Handle/Cashier/Stocker Company American Made General Store Reports to Store Manager Location 6800 E 7th Joplin, MO Prepared Date 04/03/26 FLSA Status Non-Exempt Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintaining a clean and organized stock room. Full time employee 40 hours per week Understanding of building materials and able to calculate linear feet as well as square feet to assist customer on quantity needed. Stocking store with merchandise as directed by store Manager. Load and unload customers building materials with a forklift. Must be Flexible in hours worked. Check customers out at register.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and of the employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Able to calculate linear feet and square feet needed to get customers the correct amount of product to complete their job.REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.COMPUTER SKILLS

Prior building material experience strongly preferred. Prior forklift experience loading and unloading materials. Ability to receive and carry out verbal and written instructions; ability to communicate with employees, managers and professionals.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee is frequently required to stand and walk; physical stamina to remain on feet and assist customers handling building materials. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds.WORK ENVIRONMENT
