General Laborer Job Description The General Laborer supports a small, custom-production shop that specializes in prototype and showroom work for larger companies. This role involves working with saws, routers, painting equipment, and participating in assembly or sub-assembly tasks. You will use hand and power tools and measuring devices to help produce high-quality, custom wood and related products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Operate saws and other cutting equipment safely and accurately for small-run and custom production work. Use routers and other power tools to shape, trim, and finish materials according to specifications. Perform painting tasks on parts and assemblies, ensuring clean, consistent finishes. Assist with assembly and sub-assembly of components, following work instructions and drawings as required. Measure materials using a tape measure to ensure precise cuts and accurate dimensions. Apply strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor issues with tools, equipment, and work processes. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency in a small team environment. Stand and move continuously throughout 10-hour workdays while performing production tasks. Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support a small team where each person's contribution is critical. Follow all shop safety guidelines and use tools and equipment in accordance with established procedures. Essential Skills Strong ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Proficiency in reading and using a tape measure for accurate measurement and cutting. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, equipment, and production processes. At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing or carpentry. Ability to stand and work on your feet for 10-hour days. Consistent and reliable work history, with strong attendance in previous roles. Experience with basic saw operation. Ability to perform painting tasks on parts and materials. Previous wood working experience in a shop or similar environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in carpentry, woodworking, or related trades. Experience in a small manufacturing or shop environment. Comfort working with prototype or custom production work where accuracy and detail are important. Willingness to learn new tools and processes as needed. Why Work Here? The team works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with 10-hour shifts spent primarily on your feet. The shop uses saws, routers, painting equipment, and various hand and power tools to produce custom and prototype work. The environment is production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, accuracy, and maintaining an organized workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Pulaski, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
