401(a) and 457(b) Retirement Plans, Tuition Reimbursement, Referral Bonus, Wellness Benefits Suite, Paid Holiday, Vacation, & Sick Leaves The City of Lake Alfred is seeking a dedicated Service Worker II to support the operation and maintenance of our wastewater, water collection, and distribution systems. This is a full-time, non-exempt position offering the opportunity to work hands-on in a vital public service role.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform tests and readings on wastewater systems. Pump sludge and remove debris from wet wells. Conduct operational checks at the wastewater plant, pump house, and lift stations. Collect and assist with sample analysis. Maintain equipment and keep facilities clean and orderly.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years of wastewater plant operations experience or equivalent training/experience. Ability to operate utility-related equipment and follow written/oral instructions. Knowledge of mechanical equipment, tools, and occupational safety.
Licenses:
Valid Florida Driver's License required. Class B CDL required or the ability to attain one within one year of hire.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Must be able to perform manual labor, lift up to 70 lbs., and safely operate tools and vehicles. The City of Lake Alfred is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug-Free Workplace. w65vs0pqmt
