Follows the 170 day school calendar.
Hours:
8:00am

  • Provide transportation to and from community job sites, training programs, and school-based vocational activities.
  • Accompany students to work placements to provide on-site job coaching and support as needed.
  • Assist students with learning and practicing appropriate work behaviors, communication, and task completion.
  • Coordinate the school's peer mentor program, including scheduling, basic training, and communication with participating students and staff.
  • Monitor and document student progress toward career-related goals as outlined in each student's Individualized Service Plan (ISP).
  • Maintain documentation related to job coaching hours, student progress, and services provided.
  • Support the VR director with clerical tasks such as organizing files, submitting documentation for billing or reimbursement, and tracking student placements or contracts.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student job schedules, expectations, and transportation logistics.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and external job site supervisors to support student success in the workplace.
  • Monitor student safety and well-being during transportation and community outings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Vocational Rehabilitation. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required High School Diploma Work Context
  • Requires sitting, standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work.
  • Requires the use of communication systems, such as computers, software, electronic mail, and telephones.
  • Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines.
  • Requires face-to-face virtual discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams.
  • Requires work with students, internal and external contacts, parents, and with the public. Physical Environment
  • Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions, and outdoors for dining and some classes.
  • Requires sitting, standing and the ability to occasionally lift, carry, move and/or position objects frequently weighing up to 20 pounds and infrequently weighing more than 20 pounds.
