Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Recycling Technician to join our curbside recycling team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing recyclable materials and creative problem solving on the job. Your enthusiasm for sustainability and hands-on mechanical skills will help us maintain efficient recycling operations, promote environmental responsibility, and support community waste reduction efforts. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on environmental conservation through active participation in recycling processes and waste management practices. Responsibilities Operate pickup trucks with trailer through neighborhoods and tight roadways., Manage the collection, sorting, and processing of recyclable materials in accordance with environmental compliance standards. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and perform basic mechanical troubleshooting when necessary. Follow safety protocols diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to prevent accidents during outdoor work activities. Assist with warehouse management tasks such as site maintenance and sanitation efforts to uphold environmental standards. Maintain accurate records of material handling activities, equipment operation logs, and safety inspections to ensure accountability and regulatory compliance. Experience 5+ years driving experience. Experience with operating trailers preferred. Knowledge of recyclable materials handling is advantageous. Demonstrated mechanical knowledge related to equipment and vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting is beneficial. Outdoor work experience that includes heavy lifting and material handling in various weather conditions is desirable.
