Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Garbage Collector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient collection and disposal of waste materials while ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the surrounding environment. This role requires operating various types of waste collection vehicles and performing heavy lifting tasks as part of daily operations. Duties Operate front loader, rear loader, roll-off, and dump trucks for waste collection. Drive commercial vehicles safely and efficiently to designated routes. Load and unload waste materials from collection vehicles. Perform routine inspections and maintenance on collection trucks to ensure optimal performance. Adhere to safety regulations and company policies while on duty. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding route changes or issues. Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and equipment used in daily operations. Skills Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with collection vehicles. Experience operating front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and flatbeds. Proficient in driving manual transmission vehicles. Strong physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks consistently throughout the shift. Previous experience as a delivery driver is a plus. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various weather conditions. Excellent time management skills to ensure timely completion of routes.
