Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant team as a Camp Host and become the welcoming face of our outdoor retreat! In this dynamic role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for guests, ensuring they have an unforgettable experience from check-in to check-out. Your enthusiasm and hospitality skills will help create a friendly, safe, and enjoyable environment for visitors of all backgrounds. Whether assisting with reservations, providing local insights, or maintaining the campground's cleanliness and safety, your energy will drive memorable guest interactions and foster a sense of community.

Work Schedule:
Multiple shifts (Work assignments are limited in duration (seasonal) and are based on a full-time basis; days and hours will vary with weekend and holiday work required
Position Title:
Camp Host RV (Recreational Vehicle) is Required/Mandatory.
Location:
Silver Lake West Campground - Hwy 88, Amador County & Caples Lake - Hwy 88, Alpine County., CA, and 96120
Duration:
April to September (Assignment duration can change based on EID's needs)
Work Schedule:
Multiple shifts(Work assignments are limited in duration (seasonal) and are based on a full-time basis; days and hours will vary with weekend and holiday work required

Camp Host Summary:
Under supervision, assist recreation staff with processing campers, selling firewood and providing visitor service functions in a park and recreation setting. Field environment consistent with living and representing an example of responsible stewardship in a recreation area and indicative of semi-remote conditions.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY
English usage, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Use and care of various hand and power tools. Use of personal computers and related software applications. Ability to read and interpret park rules and regulations. Ability to answer a wide variety of questions from park visitors and District staff. Ability to communicate verbally and in written format. Patrol recreational areas and related facilities on foot and by vehicle to ensure public safety and visitor compliance with rules and regulations and perform maintenance and repair of recreational facilities, trails, and waterways. Learn to operate snow removal and light construction equipment. Intermittently sit while studying or preparing reports; bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist when performing park maintenance duties; perform simple and power grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation; and lift or carry the weight of 50 pounds or less.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES
EDUCATION:
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
EXPERIENCE
One year of park maintenance and/or park patrol experience is desirable. Possession of CPR/First Aid card is desirable.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATION
Licenses and Certificate:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver's license at the time of appointment. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to physical disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Relocate before starting work (Required) Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing information about the campground facilities and local attractions Manage reservations, check-ins, and check-outs efficiently while maintaining accurate records Address guest inquiries promptly, offering exceptional customer service and personalized recommendations Conduct regular patrols of the campground to ensure safety, cleanliness, and adherence to park policies Assist with event setup, campground maintenance, and general troubleshooting as needed Foster positive guest relations by resolving concerns quickly and professionally Support multilingual guests by communicating effectively in multiple languages or providing translation assistance Qualifications Previous experience in hotel or hospitality roles is highly desirable Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor Ability to communicate fluently in at least two languages; bilingual skills are a plus Experience working at resorts or in front desk operations is advantageous Passion for outdoor recreation, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and safety protocols Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed
