Job Summary:

As a Driver, you will be responsible for the safe operation of a commercial truck across various residential and commercial routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and adherence to company policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Pre- and Post-Trip Inspections:

Conduct thorough vehicle inspections at the start and end of each shift using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR). Ensure all mechanical issues are documented, reported, and addressed in a timely manner. Report any unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or concerns to the Supervisor or Dispatch immediately.

Route Management:

Follow all assigned routes, ensuring accurate and timely delivery and service of containers. Make sure all containers are completely emptied and that the customer's location is left clean and free of debris.

Customer Service:

Maintain a professional and courteous attitude while interacting with customers, ensuring that all company service standards are met. Address any customer concerns or complaints professionally and promptly.

Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety and driving regulations. Ensure compliance with traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to prevent accidents, injuries, or damage to property.

Documentation and Reporting:

Complete and submit all required documentation, including route sheets, DVIR forms, service logs, and any other necessary paperwork. Report all issues, delays, and accidents promptly to Supervisor or Dispatch.

Equipment Maintenance:

Assist in routine maintenance tasks, such as checking tire pressure, fluid levels, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness. Report any equipment failures or needed repairs to Dispatch.

Traffic and Route Adjustments:

Adjust routes as necessary due to construction, accidents, or other unforeseen circumstances. Communicate any route changes to Dispatch or Supervisor as needed.

Assisting Other Drivers:

Provide support to fellow drivers when necessary, including helping with loading and unloading or covering routes as directed by the Supervisor or Dispatch.

Emergency Procedures:

Follow all emergency protocols in case of accidents, breakdowns, or other unexpected incidents. Contact Dispatch immediately in case of emergency situations and ensure all necessary steps are taken to resolve the issue safely.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a commercial driving position or a similar role, with proven experience in operating heavy-duty trucks in residential and commercial settings.

Licensing:

Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with air-brake endorsement is required. Must maintain the CDL in good standing.

Age Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age or older.

Work Eligibility:

Eligible to legally work in the United States and provide necessary documentation.

Driving Record:

Must have an acceptable driving record, free of major violations such as DUIs, reckless driving, or license suspensions. A background check and driving record review will be conducted.

Physical Requirements:

Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy items, loading and unloading materials, and sitting for extended periods. Must be able to pass a physical examination and meet the requirements for DOT certification.

Communication Skills:

Must be able to communicate clearly with supervisors, dispatchers, and customers both verbally and in writing.

Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to make quick decisions on the road, especially in situations involving delays, traffic issues, or route changes. Attention to

Detail:

Strong attention to detail in terms of inspection, documentation, and customer service. Able to recognize potential safety hazards and resolve them efficiently.

Additional Preferences:

Experience with waste management or similar industries is a plus. Knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns. Ability to work flexible hours. Familiarity with truck-mounted equipment, including compactors and hydraulic systems.
