Certified Nursing Assistant

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for night shifts to provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort. Monitor vital signs and observe changes in patient conditions, reporting findings accurately to nursing staff. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices to safely transfer or reposition patients. Document patient care activities thoroughly and accurately within medical documentation systems like EMR platforms. Respond promptly to patient calls and emergencies, providing reassurance and appropriate assistance during overnight hours. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and social workers to ensure comprehensive patient care. Requirements Valid CNA certification with current licensure in the applicable state or region. Prior experience working in long-term care facilities, nursing homes, assisted living, or hospital settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of specialized care areas such as Alzheimer's/dementia care, memory support, hospice, or behavioral health is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, vital signs measurement, catheter care, and basic life support (BLS). Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring complex caregiving needs. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks; EMR system experience is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics and geriatrics. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks using assistive devices like Hoyer lifts while maintaining safety standards.
