Job Description

Clinical Director
  • Discovery Point Retreat (Ennis, TX) Discovery Point Retreat is a leading behavioral health treatment center in Ennis, TX, dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.
We are Joint Commission accredited and LegitScript certified, providing evidence-based care through our detoxification and residential services at our CDTF inpatient facility.   • Dual diagnosis expertise: Our integrative approach includes EMDR, trauma-informed care, individual/group/family counseling, and recovery-focused life skills training Position Summary The Clinical Director provides strategic and operational leadership for all clinical programming at our Ennis outpatient facility.
This role oversees the DTX and RES programs, ensures regulatory compliance with Texas CDTF standards, and maintains the highest quality of care for clients navigating substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. The Clinical Director supervises clinical staff, manages treatment planning, and serves as the clinical authority for the facility. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical oversight and leadership for DTX and RES programming, ensuring fidelity to evidence-based treatment models
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate licensed clinicians, counselor interns, and support staff
  • Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and treatment protocols aligned with Texas CDTF regulatory requirements
  • Oversee individualized treatment planning, clinical documentation, and utilization review processes
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission accreditation standards, state licensing requirements, and all applicable regulations
  • Collaborate with medical staff, nursing, and case management to deliver integrated, whole-person care
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance program effectiveness
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide crisis consultation as needed
  • Represent the facility in community outreach, referral development, and professional networking
  • Maintain and model ethical standards consistent with applicable licensing board codes of conduct
Qualifications Required:
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field
  • Active, unrestricted Texas licensure as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist
  • Must meet Texas Qualified Credentialed Counselor (QCC) requirements per 26 TAC Section 562.1(38)
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in substance use disorder and/or mental health treatment settings
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory or clinical leadership experience
  • Knowledge of PHP, IOP, and outpatient levels of care
  • Familiarity with Texas CDTF regulations and Joint Commission accreditation standards
Preferred:
  • 3-5 years of progressive clinical leadership experience
  • Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) credential or eligibility
  • Experience with EMDR, trauma-informed care, and dual diagnosis treatment
  • Experience with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems (KIPU or similar)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Schedule and Work Environment
  • Full-time position based on-site at 306 Log Cabin Rd, Ennis

  • Monday through Friday with some weekend responsibilities
