Position SummaryThe Lamination Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and quality operation of the lamination machine and supporting equipment. This role ensures proper product assembly, adhesive application, equipment operation, and material handling while maintaining production standards and workplace safety. The Lamination Operator will also document production information and communicate operational updates to the Department Manager and leadership team.
ObjectivesThe role of the Lamination Operator is to operate the lamination machine to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality product production while supporting continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesOperate lamination equipment safely and efficiently while meeting production and quality standards.
Complete daily safety audits and actively promote a safe work environment by identifying and preventing unsafe conditions or behaviors.
Work effectively in a self-directed and team-oriented environment.
Understand and troubleshoot incoming materials, production processes, and equipment issues.
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and ensure an organized transition between shifts.
Operate and monitor material conveyance systems and related machinery.
Inspect products and identify quality concerns to ensure customer specifications are met.
Align foam with composite or vinyl panels and understand the assembly process.
Work cooperatively with supervisors, leads, maintenance personnel, and co-workers to support daily operations.
Understand adhesive application processes and assist with handling and changing glue drums.
Assist with and perform profile changeovers and line setup activities.
Rotate between multiple positions on the lamination line, including sorting, inspecting, assembling, material handling, and packaging finished products.
Perform proper startup and shutdown procedures for the lamination line and related systems.
Maintain and operate the glue system at optimum performance levels.
Manage glue systems during startups, shutdowns, and production breaks.
Perform basic troubleshooting and minor equipment repairs as needed.
Accurately document production information, downtime, quality concerns, and operational updates.
Communicate production issues, safety concerns, and operational performance to the Department Manager and leadership team.
Qualifications & SkillsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.
Manufacturing or production experience preferred.
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to safely operate industrial equipment and machinery.
Ability to follow safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Forklift certification or willingness to become certified preferred.
Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and manufacturing conditions.
Ability to safely handle materials, glue drums, and production equipment.

Minimize downtime through effective troubleshooting and communication.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
Ensure proper operation of the lamination and glue systems.

Work EnvironmentThe atmosphere is that of a manufacturing plant. The position will primarily work where moving machinery produces noise. Employees must wear Personal Protective Equipment that is issued for that location. Temperature can range from extreme cold to extreme heat.
