CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities in a home care or assisted living setting
• Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
• Implement individualized care plans and support goals for each individual
• Monitor and document vital signs and health status of individuals
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the well-being and safety of individuals
• Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with developmental disabilities
• Provide emotional support and socialization opportunities for individuals
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of services provided

Qualifications:

• Experience in direct support or caregiving, preferably in dementia care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities
• Knowledge of home care or assisted living regulations and best practices
• Familiarity with medication administration protocols
• Understanding of social work principles and systems that support individuals with developmental disabilities
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and varying abilities
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency in documenting observations and maintaining records accurately
