Commercial Construction Estimator

Commercial Construction Estimator Excel Construction Services Inc. is looking for a reliable estimator with experience in ground up and major renovation construction. Position will involve preparing construction estimates based on provided construction drawings with internal and external input. Prepare all bid documents required by the client and review bid package with internal team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review and understand construction blueprints and client issued RFP's.
• Obtain internal and external pricing bids and ensure full coverage for the scope of work requested by the client.
• Develop/maintain databases for all available resources including price lists.
• Identify missing information and submit RFI's to clients/PMs.
• Keep track of project metrics and customer preferences (due dates, project dates, alternates, etc.).
• Ability to qualify subcontractors bids against the plans.
• Identify potential missing information in plans to include code requirements.
• Generate preconstruction estimates and SOV's and/or other forms requested by the client.
• Generate forms and keep track of bids submitted, their status, and other metrics.
• Oversee the subcontractor database including developing new resources.

• Experience estimating restaurant chains and financial centers is a plus.
• MS Excel proficient.
• Experience with MS Project.
• Experience with Blue Beam or other material takeoff estimating software.
• BS Construction Management / Construction engineering.
• In office position.

Education & Experience:

• Estimating experience on Commercial Retail Tenant Improvements contracts is required.
• BA/BS (Construction related) and/or an Estimating Program Certificate preferred but not required.
• 10-years related experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred but not required.
• Detail oriented and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance.
• Proficiency in Estimating Software, such as Sage Estimating, Procore, and MS Project software along with MS Office Suite.
