Responsibilities Safely operate CDL A tractor-tilt deck trailer to transport freight efficiently. Load and unload cargo with precision, utilizing equipment like forklifts when necessary to ensure secure handling of freight. Execute route driving plans accurately while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Manage the delivery process from start to finish, including verifying shipments, inspecting loads, and ensuring proper documentation. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain optimal truck performance and safety compliance. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered during transit. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, freight movements, and vehicle maintenance records in accordance with regulatory standards. Experience Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL A license. Hands-on experience operating manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers. Familiarity with driving specialized vehicles such as tilt deck trailers is highly desirable. Previous delivery driver experience involving load & unload tasks across various freight types. Knowledge of safety procedures related to freight handling and vehicle operation. Ability to navigate routes efficiently using GPS or other navigation tools while managing time effectively.
