Job Description

Tono mai ki tētahi tūnga ki te Kaunihera o Ōtautahi About the role | Ko te mahi nei As a Compliance Officer you'll work to ensure compliance with the Resource Management Act 1991. This will primarily be through monitoring resource consents, but from time to time may involve relevant compliance and enforcement action under other legislation such as Building Act 2004, Local Government Act 2002, Freedom Camping Act 2011, Litter Act 1979 and Christchurch City Council Bylaws. Your role will be varied and will offer many opportunities to provide advice and information on environmental compliance relating to the relevant legislation. As such, a strong customer focus is required as is the ability to prioritise and manage your workload ensuring a high level of service delivery. About you | Ko Koe Tēnei To be successful in this role ideally you will have: Comprehensive practical application and experience in the compliance sector, an investigative type role or related field applying the relevant legislation (four years +) The ability to interpret and apply a wide range of statutes and regulations applicable to building and environmental activities. Minimum diploma, degree level tertiary qualification or relevant work experience in one or more of the following: Building Industry, Resource Management or Enforcement.
