Job Description

East Coast Truck & Trailer Sales, Inc. - Portsmouth, VA East Coast Truck & Trailer Sales is seeking an experienced Senior Service Manager to lead both our traditional commercial truck service operation and our installation/upfitting department. This is not an entry-level management position or a service-writer promotion. We are looking for someone who has successfully run a professional commercial truck, heavy-equipment, trailer repair, fleet, or vocational-equipment shop and understands both technical repair operations and production-oriented workflow. Minimum Qualifications - No Exceptions Applicants must have: 20+ years of relevant commercial truck, heavy-equipment, fleet, trailer repair, or vocational-equipment experience. 15+ years of hands-on technician experience working with diesel-powered commercial vehicles, trailer, or related equipment. Strong knowledge of diesel, hydraulic, electrical, PTO, chassis, and vocational-equipment systems. Proven experience managing a professional service, repair, or production-oriented shop. Demonstrated experience managing technicians, team leads, workflow, scheduling, repair orders, productivity, efficiency, utilization, WIP, labor performance, staffing, safety, and customer service. Proven ability to organize work, remove obstacles, hold teams accountable, and ensure jobs are completed correctly and on time. If you do not meet these minimum qualifications, you will not be considered. What You Will Lead This position oversees two core areas:
Service:
Traditional commercial truck and trailer repair, diagnostics, maintenance, warranty, and customer service. Installation /
Upfitting:
Second-stage manufacturing and installation of truck bodies, equipment, hydraulic systems, PTOs, electrical components, and related vocational equipment.
The manager is responsible for:
Planning and controlling workflow across Service and Installation. Ensuring jobs are properly scheduled, prepared, staffed, and completed on time. Managing technician and installer productivity, efficiency, and workmanship. Working with team leads to resolve technical and production obstacles. Maintaining disciplined repair-order, WIP, and job-status management. Developing employees and maintaining accountability and shop standards. Coordinating with Parts, Sales, Transportation, and other departments to prevent delays. Improving throughput, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction. We need someone who is highly organized, technically credible, and execution-driven —someone who can see what needs to happen next, keep the operation moving, and work alongside experienced team leads to solve problems when obstacles arise. Schedule This is a full-time, on-site leadership position in Portsmouth, Virginia. Compensation & Benefits Salary is commensurate with proven experience. Compensation will reflect demonstrated technical depth, leadership experience, shop performance, productivity improvement, profitability, and the scope of the operation previously managed.

Improved productivity, organization, throughput, profitability, and customer service. 20 years of relevant industry experience and 15 years of hands-on technical experience are minimum requirements. From $100,000.00 per year
