Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, facilitating communication between clients and the service department. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive repair processes, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to accurately document service requests and repairs. Responsibilities Greet customers and assess their service needs, providing exceptional customer service throughout the process. Document customer concerns and vehicle issues accurately to ensure effective communication with technicians. Prepare repair orders and estimates based on customer input and technician diagnostics. Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of services, including air brake systems, brake repairs, diesel engine repairs, and auto body repairs. Maintain clear communication with customers regarding the status of their vehicles and any additional services needed. Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to assist in identifying issues and recommending appropriate services. Process transactions and maintain accurate records of services performed. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and company policies. Qualifications Previous experience in service writing or a similar role within the automotive industry is preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including air brakes, brake repair, diesel engine repair, and alignment processes. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics and the ability to transmit technical information clearly. Attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. A passion for the automotive industry and a commitment to continuous learning about new technologies and repair techniques.
